Yu Yureka Unlocking Rooting Installing TWRP Recovery



Micromax YU Yureka is now available in the Indian market, so here is the new how to guide to unlock bootloader, root, and install TWRP recovery on Micromax YU Yureka. The Yu Yureka is a 4G enabled phone running CyanogenMod 11, features decent specs and is available at an affordable price of Rs. 8,999. The good news is that you can now root your device and install the custom Recovery. To get started first you have to unlock the bootloader of the phone and after that you can get the root access.

NOTE: Unlocking the bootloader will Wipe/ factory reset your device, and will delete all data from your device such as apps, photos, messages, and settings.

CHECK PHONE MODEL

This guide is only for the Micromax YU Yureka android smartphone. Don�t try this method on any of other Android devices, It may hard brick your device. So, first confirm your phone model number in your android phone settings. To do this Go the Settings page of your device and check out the �About Device� option.

PRE-REQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS

Before following the below Mention guide, It�s always recommended to follow our pre-requisites and requirement to stay safe.
 1. BACKUP YOUR ANDROID DATA
Do take the Full Backup of your Android Apps, SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, Bookmarks. This one is one of the most important step that you have to follow, as we don�t want anyone losing their personal data or apps. For help on Backup and Restore check out the below mention guides.

 2. ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE

Now you need to enable USB debugging mode. Without enabling USB debugging mode on your device you can�t start the root, Custom ROM or Unlock process.
     HOW TO ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE ON ANDROID DEVICES
 3. CHARGE YOU ANDROID
If your device switched off during this process, it could damage or brick the device. Make sure that your Android battery is full charge or near about 50-70% battery level.
After following the above mention steps follow the below mention guide one by one to proceed with the tutorial. All the above mention steps are very important, so do follow all the steps and do exactly what is told.

UNLOCK, ROOT, INSTALL TWRP ON YU YUREKA

Step 1. Download the file ADB _Fastboot.zip and extract it to a folder on your desktop.
Step 2. Switch off you phone and put in fastboot mode. TO do this power off the phone. While pressing the Volume UP key, connect the phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 3. Once you phone in fastboot mode. Open the ADB folder that you downloaded on the step 1. Hold Shift button and and right click on the empty space of the folder and Click on the option �Open command window here�.
Step 4. Now on the command prompt window type the following command.
fastboot -i 0x1ebf oem unlock
Step 5. After that type the following command to reboot your device.
fastboot -i 0x1ebf reboot
That�s it! Yureka bootloader should now be unlocked. You can then proceed with installing CWM or TWRP recovery, and rooting the phone.
Step 6. Download TWRP 2.8 Official recovery for Yureka. Then transfer the recovery file �openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-tomato.img� to the �adb_fastboot� folder (used in Step #1).
Step 7. Boot Yureka in Fastboot mode � To do so, power off the phone. While pressing the Volume UP key, connect the phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 8. Hold Shift button and and right click on the empty space of the folder and Click on the option �Open command window here�.
Step 9. In Command Prompt (CMD) window, enter the below command and hit enter.
fastboot -i 0x1ebf flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-tomato.img
Step 10. Reboot the device. Use command:
fastboot -i 0x1ebf reboot

Step 11. Download SuperSU (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip) here and move it to the root directory of phone�s internal storage.
Step 12. Now boot your device in recovery mode. To do so, power off the phone. Then press Volume Up + Volume Down and Power bottom simultaneously.
Step 13. In TWRP, install the �SuperSU.zip� file. Then reboot the phone.
That�s it. Now enjoy your rooted yu yureka phone.
